Running the Gauntlet of a Systems’ Audit in Alma: User Role Management in 4 Institutions (Panel)
Conference or Developers' Day
Conference
Abstract
This year the University of Minnesota faced a financial and library systems audit, during which they were asked to explain their user management practices. The audit required them to change their current user management processes and they wondered what other institutions are doing.
Betsy Friesen, Director, Data Management & Access, University of Minnesota Libraries, opened this question to some members of the Alma community to seek the wisdom of the crowd.
In this panel discussion, four practitioners will address “Are our Alma user management practices driven by system design or other influencing factors?” touching on topics like
- How they manage Alma user roles
- Issues they’ve worked through and resolved (or not)
- How they would redesign their processes if they could start again from scratch
- Highlight where changes to Alma system design would improve their privacy and security compliance
