Diversity and Inclusiveness: doing the work for ourselves, our relations and our organizations
Proposal Summary
In this interactive workshop, through a lens of love and respect we will examine within ourselves and in our world how privilege, power hierarchies and socio-cultural assumptions can affect our personal and professional relationships and work. Understanding our own privilege and power (for example in provider-patient relationships) helps us to avoid harming or hurting others. Dismantling barriers to inclusiveness is key to building partnerships in underserved communities, so that together we can create meaningful grounded solutions in health care.
Skills or Experience
We facilitated EDI workshops at 2 board retreats, Karen facilitated at past IM4Us conferences, and we would like to continue the EDI conversation at the conferences.
