Oral Corrective Feedback during ELL Academic Conversations
Session Abstract
This presentation will share a synopsis of current research reguarding types of corrective feedback to promote English proficiency during classroom conversation and effect on future target language use. I will show non-verbal strategies with visuals to use during ELL academic conversations to promote accurate grammar without disrupting a class discussion.

Biographical Statement
Anne Niemi is a middle school ESL teacher in Bedford, Massachusetts. She is also a RETELL instructor for the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education, as well as an Adjunct Lecturer for Simmons College Graduate School of Education. She holds a Bachelor's Degree in English and Secondary Education from the University of Maryland, and a Master's Degree in Teaching English as a Second Language from Simmons College.
