Writing About Writing and Speaking About Speaking: ESL Topics Renewed

Friday, May 9, 2014 at 3:30 PM–4:15 PM EDT
Middlesex West
Session Abstract

Presenters will discuss how they adapted the idea of “writing about writing” (Downs and Wardle 2007) to suit non-native speakers. They will then share successful assignments that call on students to write and speak about literacy, thereby fostering self-reflection and mutual respect of diverse rhetorical styles in their ESL classes.
