In this session, participants will be introduced to various strategies and activities for welcoming newcomers into his/her classroom and/or school. Stategies will pertain to both specialists and classroom teachers.

Biographical Statement
Rachel Hoffman is an ELL teacher in a low incidence district. She previously worked as an ELL and SEI teacher in two successful turnaround schools.

Liz Dunnigan is an ELL specialist with a background in early childhood and has spent the last three years teaching at a successful turnaround school.
