Determinants of Women’s Agricultural Business Financial Satisfaction: An Exploratory Study
Short Abstract
The roles and responsibilities of women in agriculture have changed dramatically during recent years. In fact, there are currently more than one million women, including principal and secondary operators, managing farms in the United States. However, research is limited regarding business financial satisfaction of women involved in agricultural. The purpose of this study was to develop and test a theoretical framework of women’s agricultural business financial satisfaction. Using data from a survey given to women at a farm women’s conference, a path analysis was conducted to analyze the associations among hypothesized determinants and agriculture business financial satisfaction Results indicated that role satisfaction was a mediating factor in the model as well as the only significant variable directly associated with business financial satisfaction. Implications for policymakers, educators, and researchers are discussed.
