
In July 2013, 40 rising 9th-12th grade ELLs from Salem participated in a four-week content-based enrichment academy at Salem State University that focused on the history of work in Massachusetts. Presenters will discuss the design of the program, present data on student and teacher outcomes, and share considerations for similar future programs.

Dr. Chad Leith is an Assistant Professor at Salem State University, where he teaches educator preparation courses in ESL, SEI, and adolescent literacy.
Cami Condie is an Instructor in Education at Salem State University. She served as Associate Director of the Salem at SEA program.
Dr. Christine Shaw is Executive Director of the Northeast Regional Readiness Center. She served as Principal Investigator for the Salem at SEA Massachusetts Gateway Grant.
