Program Description

A series of fast-paced and enlightening talks featuring five brilliantly knowledgeable speakers who will share their perspectives on the future of associations, conferences, and events. Ignite is an exciting format where speakers get just 25 slides that auto-advance for a total of five minutes. Topics will be based on the ELEVATE themed tracks:

Megan Denhardt, CAE loves organizing, designing, and delivering conferences and events of different shapes and sizes. In her 15+ years of experience, she has learned the secret to successful events is to delight and surprise attendees with new formats, myriad delivery methods, meaningful engagement tactics, and energy bursts. Her dedication to creating exceptional and memorable experiences for her clients is what sets her apart. She guides organizations in delivering meaningful educational content, implementing unique conferences and events, and designing quality programs that keep attendees engaged. Megan stays abreast of industry trends and as such can recommend the right fit for clients that will deliver relevant and actionable content that engages attendees and fosters relationship building – and make lasting memories to convert that first-time attendee into a life-long one. Megan speaks and facilitates educational programming in the association space for organizations like CalSAE, ASAE, Association Trends, AssociationSuccess.org, MC Live, and CESSE, just to name a few. Megan’s enormous energy and enthusiasm for creating and delivering quality event experiences in unique and meaningful ways to keep her passion for this work alive and kicking.

Megan is a proud mama to Jake and Sydney (ages ten and eight) who keep her on her toes and have taught her how big one's heart can grow, and happy wife of nearly 15 years to her college sweetheart. You can find Megan running around the Bay, spending time with friends and family, and seeking her next adventure.

She's a goal-oriented, metrics-driven leader, adept at leveraging both quantitative and qualitative inputs to drive teams to success. As the Chief Staff Executive of the San Mateo County Medical Association, Keith's role is to manage and oversee all organizational activities and provide leadership continuity and guidance to the volunteer Board of Directors. He works directly with the SMCMA President, Executive Committee, and Board of Directors to oversee areas of fiscal and managerial responsibility as directed by the strategic plan and annual budget. He provides direction and implementation of short and long term plans to increase membership and external program findings in order to meet organizational goals. He also coordinates all political action and advocacy activities in conjunction with SMCMA Physician leadership, the California Medical Association, and political action committees. He serves as the liaison between the organization and the public at large, including building and maintaining communication with political, economic, and affiliated organizations in the county and throughout the state of California.

Ben is really not one to toot his own horn, so he’ll keep this short (if you want the full story, check out his resumé on LinkedIn). He's helped hundreds of associations launch and nurture their own private online communities through consulting, coaching and training (click here to see what they think of him). He's worked for lots of different types of organizations over his 12-year association career, concluding it as VP for Marketing & Communications at the 40,000-member Virginia Association of Realtors. At VAR he selected, implemented, and launched a private online community, garnering recognition in the association community as well as the real estate trade press, and a Technology Spotlight Award from the National Association of Realtors. As Chief Engagement Officer for Online Community Results, you can count on him to give you field-tested guidance to achieve the ROI you expect from your online community.

Consultant and trainer Becky Lunders brings experience in the corporate, nonprofit and media sectors. She honed her leadership development skills while at the American Cancer Society. She oversaw the Relay for Life program in California which grew from 24 events raising $4.1 million to more than 300 events raising $31 million under her watch. Becky knows how to train, motivate and inspire volunteers and staff to reach strategic goals while fulfilling the organizational mission.

Becky is a consultant, cheerleader, and coach all wrapped up in one. She is a dynamic facilitator, a poised presenter, and a skilled coach. She has a unique ability to connect with her audience and motivate people. Becky graduated from the University of Washington in Seattle with a B.A. in Broadcast Journalism. She has immersed herself in leadership development for most of her life. Becky is based in the Northern California town of Loomis. She enjoys working out, spending time with her husband, and cheering on her amazing kids in sports.

Mia works closely with each of Uptown Studios’ marketing clients, helping them to realize their marketing goals through strategically designed campaigns. Embracing each clients’ one-of-a-kind perspective and expertise, she pulls together ideas and concepts to develop compelling campaigns. Like putting together the pieces of a puzzle, she enjoys the challenge of identifying new and creative ways to achieve client goals. You will see Mia at most of the trainings that she does around town with Tina Reynolds – the dynamic training duo. On the weekends, you can find her exploring California by bicycle or motorcycle, because there’s nothing quite like seeing our great state on two wheels!
