Leadership the Undercover Way
Program Description
After spending four years on active duty in the Marine Corps and 26 years in the FBI—many of those years in long-term undercover assignments—I’ve seen great leaders and I’ve seen the not so great. I’ve witnessed and experienced leadership daily; sometimes during the most mundane of times and sometimes when lives are at stake. Great leadership can be summarized in four principles and easily understood with the acronym L.E.A.D.
- Great leaders listen and learn; much of their learning comes from the most unlikely of sources.
- Great leaders empower and equip; if they merely delegate tasks, they develop followers; if they delegate authority, they develop leaders.
- Great leaders always look to make it fun because burnout isn’t a badge of honor.
- Great leaders do the right thing, even when it isn’t popular
