Redefining Nourishment and Health Along the Spectrum of Gender

Friday, June 19, 2020 at 3:30 PM–5:00 PM Pacific Time (US & Canada)
2 - Salon C
Workshop Description

The field of nutrition focuses on definitions of health that can be contradictory for many people. This talk will introduce a gender-spectrum informed method of exploring the space between diet culture and body positivity. We will unravel the medical paradigm of weight stigma and diet that negatively impacts gender affirmation. We will explore the brain-body connection, nourishment and body image work, to allow trans and non-binary people to individualize the concept of physical health.
