Engaging with Transformative Learning Research
This session will provide a discussion and review of the presenter's dissertation research on study abroad and its lack of impact on in-service teachers. Presenting negative case study data, the presenter will invite the audience to critique and respond to presenter's dissertation participant that demonstrated no signs of impact following a study abroad experience. The goal of this session is to more clearly understand the role of study abroad and what activities are productive of transformational learning by articulating what types of learning abroad have been shown to have limited or no transformational impact upon in-service teachers.
