Short Description

Teacher preparation programs, alternative and traditional, tout collaboration as a soft skill their graduates possess. And well they should! According to the Center for Curriculum Redesign, (2019) collaboration is one of only four skills required for 21st Century learners to show what they know. And, owing to the scarcity of resources, teachers not only need to be effective collaborators, they need to be able to teach this vital skill to their students! This presentation outlines the UOPX’s journey in moving from just taking about collaboration to defining, developing, and directly assessing it.
