Short Description

CityU has been running Alternative Routes programs for fifteen years. In the last several years, our one year program has grown exponentially, with 175 candidates this year and spread out in partnerships with 60+ school districts, focused on Special Education, ELL and Math endorsements.

We've had great success in producing well-qualified certificated and employed teachers. We will share our practices, successes, tips and suggestions, particularly in scaling such a program to work with multiple districts. At the same time, we have encountered obstacles and difficulties and made mistakes. Some of which we've overcome, others of which still bedevil us, and all of which we have learned -- and are continuing to learn -- from. We look forward to facilitating a lively discussion about these!
