Short Description
In Fall 2019, the Professional Education Unit at the University of West Florida completed its CAEP accreditation site visit. Although the university’s educator preparation institute, TeacherReady is a state-approved program that leads to completers earning a professional teaching certificate in Florida and is a member of the professional education unit, UWF’s TeacherReady completed a separate self-report and evidence documents to complement that of the (traditional) program unit. While not all educator preparation programs seek accreditation, for programs that do it is often helpful to have an opportunity to discuss the process—from writing the initial self-report, to compiling evidence documents, to providing a response to the initial review and preparing for the site visit. Having just lived the accreditation visit experience in Fall 2019, the proposed roundtable provides an opportunity for attendees to engage in a Q&A session with members from the UWF TeacherReady team.
