Short Description
Understanding how both teacher preparation coaches and candidates use video technology to develop expertise in feedback and reflection can guide efforts to foster educator expertise. This presentation explores research and practice for teacher preparation (pre-service) and induction (in-service) programs; specifically, we present a promising way to provide targeted feedback and develop reflective expertise through video coaching. This session will present our developing conceptual and theoretical framework, and introduce initial data collection methods to explore the preparation experience of coaches, pre-service candidates, induction coaches and in-service candidates. Session participants will gain an understanding of current video coaching practices and explore opportunities for implementation in their own programs.
