This session explores the architectural and policy issues with which we can craft a physical campus environment conducive to democratic engagement for students and faculty. What are the design principles and facilities planning processes that lead to campus designs more congenial for student organizing, informal and formal events, free speech, and breaking down the barriers between campus and community?
