Short Description

One of the most challenging areas in a large urban school district is providing the necessary support for new teachers and in particular for new special education teachers. In order to ensure that support is multi-dimensional and is cost effective, the special education credentialing programs are based on peer collaboration, like-credentialed Lead Mentors, one-to-one support using video conferencing and recordings and a system that provides  additional support for struggling theachers based on a three-tiered approach. This session will provide an opportunity to learn about the video recording model, distance coaching and the challenges and benefits of the program.
