Abstract

In a recent study, schools counselors felt they needed to be doing more to assist students with socio emotional and mental health issues in schools. Both principals and school counselors discussed obstacles for providing this needed assistance - especially after the COVID-19 pandemic. This presentation will discuss ways for school counselors to advicate for their ASCA-defined roles in providing social emaotional and brief mental health counseling for their students with the principals' support.
