Abstract
This presentation focuses on what school counselors can do to develop a mental health friendly school environment, improve cross-communication amongst school colleagues, and support identification of at-risk students.
Using my experience as an educator, the lessons I have learned from my brother, and my personal experience overcoming depression & anxiety, I offer staff a new perspective on suicide prevention based on connection and empathy. We all have the ability to help others decide to stay.
