Session Abstract
I was the project manager for UWA Library's "Article Discovery Project" which was completed at the start of 2020. This project was born out of a one minute presentation I made during a 2018 end-of-year librarian meeting where I said :"We should think about promoting Kopernio to staff and students". Fast-forward 14 months and that one idea had grown into overseeing a project that had expanded to take in the entire concept of improving article access. This involved a massively wide-ranging environmental scan, several product trials, many confusing twists and turns, and a clear view that Kopernio was not actually the solution we needed. Instead we ended up with the integration of Third Iron's LibKey products into Primo VE, and a new appreciation for the Google Scholar button. My presentation will take you on a journey through this maze-like process and explain how we ended up with LibKey as our champion.
