Abstract
Pet therapy and pet-assisted activities are valuable resources when supporting individuals with mental health, addiction, and trauma concerns. Using an evidence-based, trauma informed lens, Dr. Bell will discuss how pet therapy and pet-assisted activities, when utilizing a therapy dog like Mr. Beef, have the powerful potential to address the negative impact of trauma, promote achievement, recovery, and resilience, and facilitate emotional regulation and connection for clients working partnering service providers within an array of platforms.
