Biographical Statement
Shawn Slakk, a former Middle and Elementary Administrator who has taught Heritage Spanish and Conversational Japanese at the elementary level in Washington and Las Vegas, and North Carolina as well as Kindergarten through University level ESL. Most recently he was the Title III district level Sheltered Instruction Observation Protocol (SIOP) Coach in Charlotte-Mecklenburg Schools, Charlotte, NC and is completing his doctorate at UNCC with the working topic of “Sheltered Instruction and Post-professional Development Support as it Relates to Teacher Self-efficacy.” Shawn currently serves as the RETELL Coordinator charged with course development and SEI Facilitator oversight.
