What salient factors should prereferral teams consider when they meet to discuss student learning, interventions, progress monitoring, and referrals specific to culturally and linguistically diverse students?  This presentation will provide a framework for district personnel to develop networks, guides and resources relative to prereferral considerations for culturally and linguistically students.

Biographical Statement

Joni works for the Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education in the Office of English Language Acquisition and Academic Achievement as a RETELL Specialist.  She earned her C.A.G.S. in Bilingual Special Education from The George Washington University and her master’s degree in Curriculum & Instruction from Boston College.
