Session Abstract

Both Backward Design and Rapid Instructional Design methods employ unique approaches to designing valuable learning experiences. Combining these course design approaches and enriched best practices grounded in adult-learning theories helps create fresh and rewarding learning experiences for project-based, e-learning environments. This fusion can be used in academia and the workplace.

Session Description

In both the academic and corporate arenas, business owners want courses and training materials developed faster than the time it takes for optimal quality to be delivered. Both backward design and rapid instructional design employ unique processes in their approaches to designing high-quality, project-based courses. This presentation combines the two strategies into a timely, effective process enriched by best practices in course design. This process involves collaborating with faculty or subject matter experts to build fresh, relevant, and rewarding learning experiences for participants within asynchronous environments. By using this prescribed combination to build learning environments, facilitators will enjoy creating and the students will enjoy learning.
