School counselors have the responsibility to advocate and to be change agents to serve all students, especially those who come from diverse or challenging backgrounds. Students are affected by psychological, social, emotional, and environmental factors that include poverty, violence, and family distress. ASCA emphasizes school counselors’ role in social justice and promotes and advocates for school-family-community partnerships. This session will explore social justice tools, practical resources, and evidence-based interventions for school counselors.
