Short Description
This study uses 2019 Survey of Consumer Finances to investigate gender differences in the use of education loans. This study finds that women were more likely to have the education loans and will have higher current education loan amount compared to their male cohorts. Economic and demographic factors, such as net worth, homeownership and education level are significant determinants in shaping individuals’ decisions regarding education loan use. The implications to the clients, financial educators and policy makers are discussed.
