
This presentation draws on critical discourse analysis of ethnographic data collected during a two-month virtual study abroad program focused on the acquisition of Turkish. The analysis highlights communicative practices that emerge in the COVID-era virtual environment, the ideologies they index, and implications for intercultural learning.
