This presentation discusses theoretical perspectives and pedagogical implications to integrating diverse children’s literature as a way to support teacher candidate’s intercultural learning and development as well as learning to critically analyze the representation of culturally (ethnically, racially, etc.) diverse identities.

Roxanna M. Senyshyn is Associate Professor of Applied Linguistics and Communication Arts and Sciences at Pennsylvania State University, Abington College. Her teaching and research focus on transformative learning in teacher education, intercultural competence development for academic and professional purposes, and second language education.
