Networked learning (NL) provides a theoretical foundation for second and foreign language teachers while they create activities to foster intercultural understanding and competence. This presentation explains and provides examples of NL with its major tenets and implications for intercultural education.

Professional Biography

Betül C Czerkawski: Dr. Czerkawski is a professor of instructional design and technology from the University of Arizona. She also is a faculty member at the Second Language Acquisition and Teaching Program.  Her research interests include learning design, foreign language teaching and learning and emerging learning technologies.
