Professional Biography

El Essawi received her PhD from Al-Azhar University and her MA from TAFL program at AUC. Currently, she is an associate professor at the Department of Applied Linguistics, The American University in Cairo. She served as director of Teaching Arabic as a Foreign Language MA Program from 2006 - 2020.
