This study shows a profile of intermediate-level undergraduate students around intercultural competence.The scores of the Intercultural Competencies Scale completed by students served as an indicator of the changes that should be done in curriculum design.

Gisela Gonzalez-Elias is the Interdisciplinary Bachelor's program in Psychology and Speech Therapy Coordinator at Albizu University, Mayaguez Center in Puerto Rico. She teaches the Intercultural Competence course for undergraduates’ students. Her main objective is to continue teaching, and researching in the intercultural competence area and to share the research findings.

Professional Biography

Hécmir Torres-Cuevas is an Assistant Professor and Psychology coordinator of the Interdisciplinary Baccalaureate at Albizu University, San Juan Campus, since 2019. She completed a PhD in Clinical Psychology in 2011 at Albizu University. Currently she and her colleagues design and are teaching an Intercultural Competence Course in the University.

Ana I. Medina Andujar is an Adjunct Professor in the Interdisciplinary Bachelor's program at Albizu University, San Juan, P.R. and at Interamerican University, Arecibo Campus. She teaches undergraduate Intercultural development and works in research on Intercultural competence and the development of an instrument adapted to our Puerto Rican community.

She has 15 years of experience in higher education, including academic program administration, student affairs, curriculum development, e-learning, teaching, research, direct clinical work, supervision, outreach, and preventative program development.
