2. Collection Development & Assessment

Abstract

In today’s hybrid learning environments, it’s more important than ever for librarians to follow efficient selection and acquisition workflows. They may also be asking themselves: how can we increase this efficiency while still supporting the library’s collection development goals?

In this session, you’ll hear from Aaron Sandoval, Collection Development & Acquisitions Librarian at Wesleyan University, about his collection development strategies and the data-driven efficiencies his library gained in its collection development workflow. You’ll learn about leveraging machine learning to recommend monograph purchases for a library’s collections, and about new marketplace resources that provide essential data at decision points to ensure staff make evidence-based purchases.
