5. User Experience & Promotion

Abstract

Much has been written of the need for librarians to bring their services to patrons ‘at the point of need’. Our recent white paper on Librarian Futures supported these findings, with a striking 55% of students and 60% of faculty in favour of receiving library communication only where and when they need it. This session will explore these findings and also look at the University of Alabama’s experience in embedding Springshare’s LibChat feature into their patrons’ workflows.

Presenters

Matt Hayes, Lean Library
Alice L. Daugherty, The University of Alabama
Talia Richards, Springshare
