Swiss Library Service Platform – a national library service network for academic libraries in Switzerland

Session Abstract
At the IGeLU meeting 2019 in Singapore, ETH Zurich presented the national project SLSP to form a national academic library network in Switzerland. In the meantime, SLSP has been established as both network and agency. On 7 December 2020, the project went live successfully with Alma and Primo as a new service product “swisscovery” for the initially 475 academic libraries in Switzerland that joined the network. The presentation will highlight the steps towards a national academic library network, encountered obstacles such as data protection issues, the organizational and governance structure as well as the achieved benefits.
