The University of Arizona recently embarked on a pilot of the Reprints Desk’s article purchasing service, Article Galaxy Scholar (AGS), to determine where the library had potential lapses in their journal coverage. While implementing this service, we realized that there is potential in using Primo’s robust OpenURL capabilities to drive users to this service from other platforms that existed outside of the pilot’s scope. Since Primo can fabricate a discovery page from the OpenURL syntax that is passed along from outside databases,it allows the library to customize the options users have for finding resources that the library does not own. During this session, we'll go over how we utilize these discovery pages to allow us to redirect users to services like AGS and Interlibrary Loan and use Primo as a central integration discovery tool. Attendees will leave with an understanding of the University of Arizona setup and ideas on how to incorporate OpenURL elements.
