Session Abstract

As Swansea University Libraries in 2021 we needed a process that our faculty staff and library staff could use to purchase from reading lists. This process needed to be easy to use and transparent to all, including the reading list users, our students. This is the story of a constrained attempt to develop a process during the COVID pandemic which ultimately failed, and how we started out on a new journey using the Design Thinking process to create something fit for purpose for all our stakeholders. I will give a little background to our failed attempt in 2021 before introducing the session participants to the Design Thinking process and walking through how we have used it to facilitate the creation of a process for purchasing from Leganto Reading Lists for the 2022/2023 academic year.
