Session Abstract

This co-presentation takes its listeners through the unique journey of creating new interfaces and features in Alma from both sides, Ex Libris and the UX Focus Group, "revealing" their internal processes and shared collaborative framework. After providing some background about the UXFG, the presentation will concentrate on the evolution of a new feature from an idea to implementation as part of a collaborative process between Ex Libris and the UXFG. Key questions such as how Ex Libris verifies user needs and how then an idea is shared with the focus group will be answered. A "behind the scenes" sneak peak of the internal preparation on the customer side will be presented as well showing how feedback gets translated eventually into enhancements. There is a dynamic, yet structured model of collaboration which demands effort and planning from both sides and presenting this perspective will draw a vibrant picture of this exciting process, when our main goal is to create a perfect product.
