Leganto analytics: success through collaboration
Physical/Virtual?
Physical session (+ live streaming with Zoom)
Session Abstract
Increasingly reading list managers are asked for data to support collection development and to better understand how reading lists support teaching and learning. Alma Analytics can be daunting to the uninitiated and in particular, to Library staff whose principal focus is delivering a service to instructors and students. Similarly, for Systems staff whose focus is primarily on the data, it can be a challenge to understand fully what the data represents in practice. In this presentation, Angela Laurins, Library Learning Services Manager and Laura MacNeil, Information Systems Analyst from the University of Edinburgh, describe how they shared their knowledge and expertise to demystify the data and create a robust set of Leganto Analytics dashboards to support operational activities and provide insights to reading list usage. They’ll share the challenges they encountered to answering key questions, demonstrate the final dashboards and show that in this case, two heads are better than one!
