Session Abstract

Leganto is mostly used to manage the reading lists related to exams and has been a strategic ally in the Covid period for distance learning.
However, Leganto holds great potential in other different areas as well.
First of all, it represents an opportunity to enhance a library's holdings, both by highlighting electronic resources and creating thematic reading lists on topics relavant for the university community, also playing a role in the university's third mission. Secondly, it enables social reading initiatives such as university book clubs: in LIUC's experience, launched in 2022, the initiative has proven to be successful, thanks mainly to the participative dimension that the software allows, whereby readers can propose, select and vote for the next book to be read. With the strategic aim to facilitate social relations after the phandemic period, this kind of experience of bookclub could be profitable to be spread through academic libraries.
