Session Abstract
Richard Ovenden, Bodley’s Librarian and author ‘Burning the Book: A History of Knowledge Under Attack’, will look at the role of libraries and archives as preservers of knowledge, and the challenges that have faced them through history, with a detailed focus on the challenges of the digital age, and how their role as preservers of knowledge is now of crucial importance for the health of open society.
