Session Abstract

In today's world, the library is no longer defined by its walls: with space becoming more and more scarce, physical access to resources coming and going in (pandemic) waves, and digital fulfillment and resource sharing gaining popularity – more and more libraries are pooling their resources. When purchasing a book, I no longer ask only whether I have the space for it - but also if my neighbors might house it. When weeding, I might consider not only my own patron’s usage, but also how many other copies exist in my fulfillment network. This session will introduce some of the Alma features developed to help libraries manage joint collections, with or without a shared catalog.
