“I don’t know what I don’t know.” In supporting LGBTQ students, counselors often have good intentions, but are frequently unsure of what to do when situations arise or we are consulted. Over the past years, I have given trainings to schools and systems on how to do this. This is a snapshot of the essential components counselors need to know. Participants won’t learn it all but will have resources on how to move forward.
