This presentation aims to display compiled research on trauma and how it affects children; specifically, how counselors can make the spaces they teach and counsel in more conducive to the traumatized child. Using research to design trauma-safe spaces is a practice that advocates for the traumatized learner and helps promote equitable learning. The presenters hope attendees will use the information to advocate for trauma safe spaces at their schools.
