Abstract
Multiculturalism has been called the fourth force in counseling. School counselors recognize that cultural competence is paramount to meeting students’ needs and as such are entrusted with growing their cultural competence. School counselor supervisors must develop an understanding of multiculturalism as it affects the supervisory relationship with school counselors in training. Addressing multicultural factors in the supervision process includes gender, race, religion, ethnicity, sexual orientation and identity, ability status, age, and socioeconomic status.
