Leveraging Esploro to Advance Campus Initiatives at University of Miami
Session Abstract
In 2017, the University of Miami Libraires, with other early adopters, entered a partnership with Ex Libris to develop the research services platform, Esploro. Since that time, the University of Miami Libraries (UML) has engaged with key university partners, the Office of the Vice Provost for Research & Scholarship (VPORS) and UM Information Technology (UMIT), to build a centralized and sustainable research information system infrastructure, with Esploro serving as the source of truth for university publications, grants, and other research output. As Esploro’s artificial intelligence (AI) and analytic capabilities matured, UM librarians have utilized the power of the Esploro platform to advance multiple campus-wide initiatives. This presentation will include Esploro-based case studies for three campus-wide initiatives: integration of Esploro curated research assets to populate campus directory, advancing ORCID adoption & NSPM 33, and Open Access & Transformative Agreements.
