This presentation covers Ingesting your institutional repository content into Primo VE from OAI-PMH external data sources.

• Learn the step-by-step process of creating discovery import profiles, normalization rules for external data sources, normalization process tasks, and how to test and troubleshoot along the way.
• Learn about Dublin Core vs. XML normalization rules and when you might want to use each type.
• Learn why records deleted in your source IR system may not get deleted in Primo VE and some approaches for dealing with deleted records.

The session will use an Islandora 2.0 repository as the primary example, but will also share examples of harvesting from Islandora 7, ArchivesSpace, and LibGuides.

Participants will be able to set up and test a Primo VE Discovery Import Profile for an OAI-PMH data source.

Participants will be able to create discovery normalization rules and normalization process tasks to normalize the Dublin Core or XML data.

Participants will be able to explain why records deleted from the source system may not automatically be deleted from Primo and approaches to deleting those records.
