B1a An Examination of the KMSI-R: Relationship to Financial Literacy, Self-Efficacy, and Cross-Racial Validity

martes, el 16 de mayo de 2023 a las 17:15–18:45 PDT
Room 1
Short Description

The Klontz Money Script Inventory-Revised (KMSI-R) assesses money beliefs (e.g., scripts) to improve consumers’ financial well-being. This study surveyed a diverse sample of participants (N=2766) and explored the connection between different money scripts with financial literacy, financial self-efficacy, and cultural/racial competence. The goals were to examine which money scripts are most at risk for lower literacy and self-efficacy to allow practitioners to intervene; assess the KMSI-R’s validity on non-White samples; and suggest measurement improvement. Primary data collection and factor analysis was used for this project.
