Session Abstract

The electronic resource management (ERM) landscape is constantly evolving. For consortia, shared ERM presents an added layer of complexity, bringing its own set of unique challenges and opportunities, particularly as we attempt to navigate through a global health crisis.  Since migrating to Alma/Primo in 2017, the CSU Libraries Consortium has weathered its fair share of ERM hurdles, learning valuable lessons along the way.  This panel session will share CSU’s experiences with consortial ERM through the lens of four CSU colleagues, representing multiple distinct roles and perspectives. We’ll discuss the impact that product implementations (CDI, Primo VE, and Rapido), Alma/Primo Network Zone ERM functionality, burnout, remote work, and more have had on our ability to maintain momentum and engagement in our consortial environment.  We’ll share what’s working, what’s not, and ideas we have to try and improve going forward.

Learning Outcome #1

After the session, participants will be able to use knowledge about the current state of NZ ERM functionality in Alma/Primo VE to inform local decisions

Learning Outcome #2

After the session, participants will leave with a better understanding of the impact of various environmental factors on the current state of consortial ERM.
