Highlighting Your Legacy Media Collections in Primo
Session Abstract
Many libraries have physical media collections that are not being utilized as fully as they once were due to the growing presence of streaming media. The McKee Library at Southern Adventist University has moved all of its physical media items into storage, but since we still want to make these items visible to our patrons, we are utilizing Collections in Primo to provide browsing access to these titles by subject. We add thumbnail cover art to the records to make the records in Primo appear more attractive, enabling our media items to be more easily discovered. We also add links to trailers and display additional note fields in the Primo view to highlight cast and award notes in order to give our users more information.
