ELUNA 2023 Annual Meeting

This presentation summarizes the preparation, implementation, and ongoing assessment of training Library Assistants within an Electronic Resources Acquisitions Unit for migration from the Millennium iii system to Alma/Primo VE using learning theories and instructional models adapted from Information Literacy Instruction (2nd ed.) by Grassian and Kaplowitz. This presentation will:

• Summarize learning theories and instructional models
• Describe the conceptual models and informational/work silos that underlie one library management system and the workflows thereof and the changes necessary to learning how to work in Alma/Primo VE
• Describe examples of how these learning theories and instructional models were applied to specific training and presentation methods used to introduce Alma
• Provide description and assessment of tools/technology used for learning/training
• Describe the process for ad hoc assessment of methods based on feedback from staff, departmental, and institutional needs
